Move slowly. Read prayerfully. Allow the Spirit to speak.

Day 5 — Participating in God’s Redemptive Work

Living out the Kingdom through love and justice

Scripture

Colossians 1:24-2:5

Scripture Reflection

  1. What does this passage reveal about God’s heart for justice, mercy, and love?

  2. Who does this text draw my attention toward—the overlooked, the vulnerable, or the neighbor in need?

  3. How does this passage move faith beyond belief into embodied obedience?

  4. Where might God be inviting me to participate—personally, relationally, or communally—in His redemptive work?

Formational Practice

Spiritual formation is not complete until love takes shape in action. Today, prayerfully discern one tangible way to embody Christlike love.

Consider one intentional act:
  • extending generosity
  • offering forgiveness
  • serving someone quietly
  • advocating for someone unseen
  • choosing mercy where it is costly

Do not seek recognition. Seek faithfulness.

Intercessory Prayer

Having discerned God’s heart in the text, join Him in prayer for others.

Prayer Prompt:
God, attune my heart to the needs around me.
Use my life as an instrument of Your love and justice.
Give me courage to join You where You are already at work.

Spend time praying for:
  • those experiencing injustice or hardship
  • your neighbors and community
  • families, coworkers, and relationships God has placed around you
  • churches and organizations serving faithfully to bring the Kingdom

Breath Prayer

Inhale: “I anticipate your presence…”Exhale: “...In the spaces I occupy.”

Return to this prayer throughout the day as a reminder of who you are becoming in Christ.
