Consecrate Prayer Guide — Day 1

Believing The Promises of The Gospel

What is Fasting?
Fasting is abstaining from food in order to draw near to God in desperation and delight. This is an invitation — not a requirement — to fast however the Lord invites you.
Many of us will fast each day until after the prayer gathering. Some will fast one meal a day. Others will fast multiple days at a time. The call is not to fit into a structure, but to seek the Lord and listen for the Spirit on what fasting should look like for you.

We believe that God will speak to you — so seek His face.

Romans 5:1-4
The gospel is not something we earn — it is something we receive. Justification by faith means that our standing before God rests not on our performance, but on the finished work of Jesus Christ. We are at peace with God not because we have earned it, but because Christ secured it.

So why do we fast? We fast not to earn what is already ours, but to quiet our doubting flesh. There is a war within us — between the Spirit who bears witness that we are children of God and the flesh that whispers we are not enough. Fasting is one of the ways we weaken the grip of the flesh and create space for the Spirit to speak louder than our doubts.

Today, let fasting be an act of faith — a bodily declaration that you believe what God has said about you in Christ. You are justified. You are at peace. You have access. You stand in grace. Let your fast say, "I believe the promises of God more than I believe the fears of my flesh."
A Prayer of Faith:
Father,
I confess that I do not always live as one who believes Your promises.
I allow doubt, fear, and the noise of my flesh to drown out the voice of Your Spirit.
Today I fast — not to earn Your favor, but to quiet what competes with Your truth.
Speak into the silence. Strengthen my faith.
Let me rest today in what Christ has already accomplished for me.
I am justified. I have peace. I stand in grace.
I believe You. Amen. Amen.
Breath Prayer for the Day:
Throughout this day, return often to this breath prayer. Let it anchor you each time your flesh begins to doubt.

Not by works — by faith in Your promises.
