Consecrate Prayer Guide — Day 2
The Meal of Mission
What is Fasting?
Fasting is abstaining from food in order to draw near to God in desperation and delight. This is an invitation — not a requirement — to fast however the Lord invites you.
Many of us will fast each day until after the prayer gathering. Some will fast one meal a day. Others will fast multiple days at a time. The call is not to fit into a structure, but to seek the Lord and listen for the Spirit on what fasting should look like for you.
We believe that God will speak to you — so seek His face.

John 4:32
Jesus had been traveling. He was tired. He was hungry. His disciples had gone into town to find food, and while they were gone He sat down by a well. A woman came to draw water — and Jesus, in His hunger, gave everything He had to her. He offered her living water. He revealed to her who He was. He told her the truth about her life and invited her into something eternal.
When the disciples returned with food and urged Him to eat, Jesus said something that stopped them in their tracks: "I have food to eat that you do not know about." The mission itself had fed Him. The work of God — the encounter, the proclamation, the transformation of a soul — had become His sustenance.
Today we fast to lean into that same reality. We are preparing to go out into our neighborhood — to hand out flyers, to make hot dogs, to watch flag football, to smile at strangers and love our neighbors well. As you abstain from physical food, pray that the mission of God would become your meal. Pray that the Holy Spirit would fill you, move through you, and use your ordinary presence to push back darkness.
Pray for intentional encounters. Pray that eyes would be opened, that conversations would turn spiritual, and that seeds planted today would bear fruit for the Kingdom.

A Prayer For The Mission:
Jesus,
You found nourishment in the work of Your Father.
Today, feed us with that same food.
As we go into our neighborhood,
make us sensitive to the Spirit, ready for divine encounters,
and bold in our love.
Use our hands, our voices, our presence
to push back darkness and point people toward You.
May the mission be our meal today. Amen.

Breath Prayer for the Day:
Pray this throughout your day — especially as you go out:
Send me, Lord. I am hungry for what You are doing.
